The 12 MWac solar power plant in Madouna covers the electricity needs of the Royal Hashemite Court, the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, in addition to 21 governmental and care centers. This project is considered one of the most distinguished Solar Photovoltaic Energy projects in Jordan constructed on a “wheeling” basis and is the first of its size to be connected to the Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO). Its annual production is 29,026 MWhr/year in the first year.
The land area is 251,170.1 m2, and the system consists of 12 stations each is 1 MWac, with a total of 200 SMA Sunny Tri Power 60-10 inverters.
The project utilizes a SCADA system including full monitoring and control of the whole plant components utilizing string monitoring. The SCADA system includes weather stations with multiple sensors facilitating full monitoring of weather conditions. The project was completed ahead of schedule.
