Kawar Energy and the Saudi-based Mohammed Ahmed Al-Harfi Contracting Company have signed an engineering partnership agreement to collaborate on the development, design, execution, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy projects in the Syrian Arab Republic. The signing took place on the sidelines of a visit to Syria by a high-level Saudi delegation led by the Ministry of Energy.

The agreement establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) activities, as well as Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services. This covers the entire project lifecycle—from development and execution to operation—tailored to the scope and requirements of each specific project.

The partnership will support Al-Harfi’s project portfolio in the Widian Al-Rabie area of ​​Rural Damascus. This portfolio includes three solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants with a combined capacity of approximately 760 MW, alongside battery energy storage systems with a total capacity of 1,077 MW.

This partnership combines Kawar Energy’s extensive experience—dating back to 2008—in the development, design, execution, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy projects, along with its growing track record of delivering landmark projects in the region. It also leverages Al-Harfi’s execution capabilities and regional presence, ensuring the delivery of reliable, sustainable projects that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
